How often to send xml-rpc PING safely

Hi

I have an application, I am working to send xml-rpc ping on it, now I want to know how often it is safe to send ping. In other words, what is the safe interval for that I can send PING, I heard if you send too many pings, your site may get blocked.


Please suggest..
