Title: How do I cancel selection in Gimp

Ok

I started playing around with GIMP , here is my question that how do I cancel a selection , I know in photoshop it is done by Ctrl+D but in gimp it creates duplicate image.

I jsut can't find way to cancel my current selection !

Go to Edit > remove selection

That should do it.
