Hi,

Where can I get list of most commonly used fonts in css and webpage so that I can use them safely in my html / css based design and works as expected.

Hello!

I think the most commonly used and safe fonts are Arial, Trebuchet MS, Times New Roman, Verdana, Tahoma, Courier New, Georgia, and Helvetica as they are already installed in most computers. :) When viewed on browsers, they'll appear how you expect them to with the proper coding of CSS.
